The major in drawing and painting prepares you to become either a self-employed artist or to pursue a master of fine arts degree. Self-employed artists show and sell work in galleries, museums and a variety of other venues. The MFA degree would open up teaching opportunities at the college and university level.
The BFA Degree in Studio Art with a concentration in New Media Art will begin being offered in fall of 2008. The program will introduce students to a wide array of technical, compositional, theoretical and critical art processes and techniques to conceive, implement, and refine timebased, interactive art experiences using custom and commercially accessible software and hardware. The concentration will also serve to extend and enhance traditional fine art practice by integrating tangible objects with installation and fabrication.
