Are you prepared to be a leader in visual arts education in Texas in this new millennium?

Make a difference. Be a leader. Texas needs visual arts educators from schools and museums who are ready to get out in front of shifting trends in educational reform with a vision of possibility for the arts and for our children. Advances in visual arts education, art museum education and technology provide the means through which Texas can lead the nation in demonstrating that a comprehensive approach to visual arts education is important to student success. As a Marcus Fellow you will become the kind of leader who can forge the alliances, create the collaborations, and produce the curricular materials that will secure a vital future for visual arts education in Texas.

Each year, the Marcus Fellowship program supports three to five dedicated art and museum educators in graduate study in the School of Visual Arts (SOVA) at the University of North Texas (UNT). Through a combination of course work, participation in state and national conferences, museum internships, and involvement with the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts (NTIEVA), Marcus Fellows become influential advocates for visual arts education throughout the state
