Katie Tharp

As an art teacher in the Highland Park Independent School District, Katie taught beginning and intermediate art classes. She values the importance of providing students with a more inclusive approach to art making and has an interest researching the effectiveness of the arts magnets concept. "The most exciting part of being a teacher is the opportunity to continue learning. I want to become a more active part of art education and the Marcus fellowship will allow me to move much more quickly towards my goals"
