What are the Eligibility Requirements?

  • Candidates must meet all admission requirements of the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies and the School of Visual Arts at the University of North Texas.
  • Prospective Marcus Fellows need to be accepted into both the Graduate School and the graduate art education program prior to being considered for the fellowship.
  • Marcus Fellows must be able to devote their full time to the fellowship. They may not hold other employment while receiving the fellowship.
  • The Program requires that each Fellow enroll for a minimum of 15 hours of prescribed graduate level courses each semester (Fall and Spring) and participate in a ten-week museum internship during the Summer.
  • Basic computer knowledge is highly desirable.

The program does not guarantee a graduate degree from the University of North Texas, but graduate hours accumulated over the 12 months may be applied toward a master's or doctoral degree as described in the University catalog, provided admission to the graduate program is obtained prior to beginning the fellowship.
