Asian/Asian American Art and Culture |
|
Japanese art and culture are the primary focus of the curriculum materials here included. They were originally developed for SUN & STAR 1996, a collaborative celebration of Japan's artistic and cultural heritage to be held in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. Beginning in September 1996, metroplex museums showcased Japanese art; concerts and theater productions featured Japanese artists, dancers, and musicians. Sports events and festivals premiered in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area, including a display of fireworks. Children's events were also a part of SUN & STAR 1996, and the educational materials offered here were used for enhancing this cultural exchange. Other Asian and Asian American materials are also included. NTIEVA invites you to use these materials in your classroom; we would appreciate any suggestions or other comments you may have in response to this material. Comments may be made through E-mail, mail or by phone. |
