North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts: Programs

The North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts (NTIEVA) is one of six regional consortia originally established by the Getty Education Institute for the Arts to do research and development in the implementation of discipline-based art education (DBAE). DBAE is a comprehensive approach to art education that provides interdisciplinary connections to major areas of the school curriculum while introducing students to the four foundational art disciplines that contribute to the creation and understanding of art: art production, art history, art criticism, and aesthetics.
